back.

28 September 2012
Summer is gone from the calendar and, even though the sun is still shining brightly through our windows, the days are growing a bit shorter. The daylight wanes around seven o'clock in the evening now. I left on our summer holiday when the trees in the back garden were still producing figs and the promise of grapes hung on the vines overhead. I returned to trees full of some of the most amazing pears I've ever tasted, a few tiny apples, grapes full of sweetness overhead and several trees promising pomegranates, persimmons and quince in my family's near future.

Thank you for the emails. Many of you have noticed an absence of posts this last month. Let's just say that returning from the States and settling into life in Tbilisi took a bit of time. But, here I am-- ready to write and have a bit of fun this autumn. First up? Visit anewbohemia.com tomorrow, grab a virtual tasting glass and come along with me on a tour of some of Georgia's wines. See you then!

(Oh, and I hope your summer memories are still as strong as mine.)

WHAT? Returning to Tbilisi was a tough after a great vacation in the US? :) Joking! No one understands what that life is like until you've done it yourself. I don't know how you do it with three young kids. I did it with one and thought I was going to scream more often than not! LOLs. My hat is off to you.
