handmade gift: children's lyrics.

07 December 2011

Every night I sing my children a song unique to them. Since their birth, they've each had 'their' song. So, when looking for some artwork for their room, I looked no further than the songs I sing each night. Here's all you need in order to do the same:

- A piece of watercolor paper
- A permanent pen
- Watercolor paints and a brush
- A frame

Sketch out the words you wish to display, paint with watercolor paints and allow to dry, trace edges in permanent marker and frame. An easy and personal gift for someone you love

I have to know- what song is the second painting from? I love the thought of an owl saying ahchoo!

Hi @Nikki: The lyrics are from a song called Silly Lullaby featured on Sandra Boynton's Philadelphia Chickens album/book. My son and I changed the lyrics a teeny bit (the owl says 'moo' in the real song, but according to my son, the owl had a cold one day and now forever says ah-choo!). My daughter's song is a modified version of You are my Sunshine.
