colors. Tbilisi summer.

13 July 2011

I love exploring a city-- taking in the sites, the scents, the feel of the ground under my feet, the taste of a local delicacy, the sounds encircling me as I walk down the street. We all remember places in our own unique ways. For me, the colors and scents of a place are burned deeply into my sensory bank. While I can't capture the scent of Tbilisi here, I can share the colors of our Tbilisian summer. The above images tell a pretty decent color story. Tbilisi in summer is: a warm wash of golden sunlight hitting the vibrant greens of the trees. Then, those colors combine with the cool greys and dirt brown and icy blues that I'm learning are the hallmark colors of the former Eastern Soviet Block.

This is beautiful! I can sense the sunlight washing over me-even though it's dark in San Francisco right now!

Colors and this makes me want to read that book. I love Fitzgerald but never got to Tender is the Night.

Wow! I'm on pinterest too and love your inspiration board for this (especially the couple under the tree on their wedding day).
